Our family had an unforgettable journey to the tropical haven of Maui, Hawaii, in June 2023. With our little adventurers aged 2 and 6 in tow, we curated an itinerary that showcased the best of this stunning island while ensuring the experience was perfect for families. We stayed at an amazing Condo in Lahaina right up on Baby Beach that had the most stunning views and perfect beach that was safe and great for the kids to swim in. We are completely devastated by the fires in Lahaina earlier this year and look forward to that wonderful town rebuilding again. We will hold tight to the memories we made there.

1. Maui Goat Farm: Where Cuteness Meets Culture Our first stop was the charming Maui Goat Farm, a great place to check out for both kids and adults. We had the chance to interact with adorable goats, learning about the cheese-making process and tasting some of the finest goat cheese on the island. The kids loved the farm, making it a perfect spot for families seeking a unique and educational experience.
2. Maui Plantation: A Tropical Paradise Nestled in greenery, Maui Plantation gave us a glimpse into the island's agricultural history. From a tram tour through sugarcane fields to tastings of fresh pineapple and coconuts, this plantation provided a hands-on experience that captivated our kids. A blend of education and entertainment, it's a perfect spot for families looking to connect with Maui's rich farming heritage.

3. Haleakala at Sunrise: An amazing early Morning activity we did early into our trip when we weren't yet fully adjusted to the timezone change. Even getting up at the crack of dawn was well worth it when we witnessed the sunrise from the summit of Haleakala. The panoramic views left us in awe. The kids weren't thrilled though, as it was extremely cold so bring lots of layers!

4. The Blowhole: Nature's Spectacular Show For an afternoon of natural wonders, we visited The Blowhole, a mesmerizing ocean phenomenon. The kids were captivated by the powerful sprays shooting into the air, and we couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of nature's spectacle. It's an easy stop for families, offering both excitement and a touch of Hawaiian geological marvels.

5. Catamaran to Lanai: Sailing into Adventure Setting sail on a catamaran to Lanai was probably one of the top highlights of our family vacation. The waves, snorkeling opportunities, and the chance to spot dolphins made this experience a highlight for everyone. The spacious catamaran comfortable for the kids to enjoy the ocean breeze, had amazing service, and they cooked us some delicious food and beverages while onboard.

6. Submarine from Lahaina: Diving into the underwater world off Lahaina aboard a submarine was a thrilling experience for the entire family. Witnessing coral reefs, schools of tropical fish, and even some sea turtles excited the kids. This adventure made learning about marine life accessible and exciting, catering to the curiosity of our kiddos.

7. Iao Valley: Mystical Rain forest Exploration Venturing into the lush embrace of Iao Valley, we explored a mystical rain forest setting was honestly a suprise for us all. I didn't expect to enjoy this beauty as much as I did! The iconic Iao Needle and scenic trails provided a perfect backdrop for family photos, and the cool breeze between the green peaks offered a refreshing escape from the hot oceanfront where we stayed. A serene and beautiful addition to our Maui adventure.

Maui Without the Road to Hana: While the famous Road to Hana is a must for many people visiting Maui, we opted for an itinerary that embraced the wonders of Maui without the lengthy drive. We felt our kids wouldn't enjoy the long day of driving, so this decision allowed us to tailor our adventures to suit their attention spans. Maybe next time in Maui we will give it a try!
Things to Pass on: We did also visit the Botanic Gardens and Lavender Farm. Both of these left us disappointed and confused by their high reviews. I would recommend for those visiting pass on these and instead find one of the many FREE hiking trails Maui has to offer instead and enjoy a fun nature hike.

Overall, our family trip to Maui was the perfect blend of adventure, education, and relaxation. There is so much to see and do for all ages, Maui proved to be the ideal destination for a family seeking both rejuvenation and exploration. From farm visits to ocean adventures, our Maui memories will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Aloha, until we meet again! 🌺🌴 #MauiFamilyAdventure #HawaiianParadise #FamilyTravelMagic
